News Around the world in 12 Christmas time-lapses – part two

22 December 2016 Daniel Curtis

We are taking a look at some festive time-lapse videos as the final, full ‘working week’ of 2016 draws to a close.

Following on from yesterday’s holiday-themed ‘tour stops’, here are another six to complete a “12 Days of Christmas” of sorts…

7. The Biggest Gingerbread House in Australia being built at Rydges South Bank

We’re getting warmer with this video.

Mixing up a combination time-lapse and video, the team at Rydges South Bank Hotel, have created a mouth-watering sequence capturing the assembly of Brisbane’s biggest gingerbread house.

Made up of 170kg of gingerbread, icing that consists of 100kg of sugar, and days of hard work baking and building, the final structure stood in the lobby of the Brisbane hotel during Christmas 2015.

8. Christmas Lights in Los Angeles

Los Angeles has many sights to behold at any time of year, never mind during the festive period. Immerse yourself in this HD time-lapse of one of the most iconic destinations in the US lit up for Christmas.

9. 2014 Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Christmas Tree Time-Lapse

We’re staying the USA for this next feature as it’s too Christmassy not to include.

Bound to add more of a rustic feel to the holiday season is the construction of this sizable Christmas tree sitting in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Orlando, Florida. Even in the absence of snow, nobody does Christmas quite like Disney!

10. Świąteczny Kraków / Krakow around Christmas

On to colder climbs, Kraków in Poland looks like a perfect Christmas destination.

Snow, lights, markets, the hustle & bustle of city life, and more can be seen in this time-lapse video. The cinematography and the rapid capture techniques used result in a sublime sequence that’s bound to get you in the mood for Christmas.

11. Copenhagen in December 2012

The capital and most populated city in Denmark, Copenhagen is one of the country’s ultimate urban destinations.

The cultural, economic and governmental centre of Denmark, the city boasts a blend of contemporary, metropolitan structures alongside its more classical architectural gems. They come to life under a blanket of snow in this time-lapse.

12. Santa Claus Village, Rovaniemi – Lapland Finland

So it’s not time-lapse but what better way to end a Christmas video feature than with Father Christmas himself?

Not only does Santa have his own village, he also has his own television channel. Enjoy this truly magical video which captures St. Nick and his reindeer in 4K quality.

From everyone at Time-Lapse Systems, we wish you all a very happy holiday season.
