Legoland – Star Wars Miniland

We return to one of our smaller scale construction projects this week, featuring the much-loved plastic building blocks – Lego.

Part of an extensive list of projects we have completed for Merlin Entertainments, this time-lapse video documents a ‘mini’ build at the Star Wars Miniland attraction at Manchester’s Legoland Discovery Centre.

Although the installation was part of a Miniland display, the amount of work that went into building the sci-fi attraction was by no means minimal! Overall the project required:

  • 250,000 Lego bricks
  • 2,000 Lego Minifigures
  • 2,000 man hours

Our Lego-based projects have taken us to various attractions across the country capturing all manner of scale-models replicating some of the most extraordinary buildings in the world.

From Manchester and Windsor, our time-lapse work has also captured several Lego-builds that have made their home overseas, at Discovery Centres in the USA and Japan.

Our most recently completed project at the world’s largest Lego store in London’s Leicester Square involved a one-tonne scale-model of the infamous Big Ben, and a 637,000-brick Underground train!
