As the Royal Albert Hall is near to marking 150 years, it’s an ideal time to look back at “An Incredible Year in the Life of the Royal Albert Hall”.
This time-lapse video showcases and reminds us of the amazing space the Royal Albert Hall is and the breadth and diversity of performances, events and shows that pass through its doors. It reveals the level of the ‘behind the scenes’ work that goes into every event to make it one-off and magical for each audience.
Time-Lapse Systems were privileged to be tasked (and trusted) with producing the time-lapse video for such a world-renowned entertainment venue.
Capturing a unique long-term project such as “An Incredible Year in the Life of the Royal Albert Hall” required a high level of expertise and skill. The aim was to create an eye-catching time-lapse video, worthy of such a prestigious venue.
With 390 events being held throughout that year, all with different lighting and staging, the engineers had to understand how the camera system could capture each set in the best possible way. This involved remotely micro-managing and adjusting, to ensure the optimum results for each event.
The solution our skilled team arrived at for this intricate project, was a rapid interval capture for specific moments over a much longer period.
Rapid interval capture means the camera system takes a greater number of images within a certain time frame, ensuring detail and intricacies are caught and can be transformed into a high-quality video. Rapid interval time-lapse is usually required to capture the fast-moving, intense set-up and completion of a one-off event.
In the case of “A Year in the Life of the Royal Albert Hall”, it was a year full of diverse one-off events from the ballet of Swan Lake right through to Masters Tennis.
Despite the sheer volume of data collected over the year, only we, with our own editing expertise, could effectively and beautifully portray all 390 events in such a short period of time.
The captivating video of “An Incredible Year in the Life of the Royal Albert Hall” shows the quality that Time-Lapse Systems can apply to any project and the versatility of the team’s skills and working methods.
So, here’s to more eclectic and wonderful events at the Royal Albert Hall, welcoming in another 150 years of concerts and memories for those that visit the prestigious world-class venue.
