News Time-Lapse for Fashion Brands

1 May 2024 Holly Eckersley

In today’s competitive retail landscape it is imperative that fashion designers have brand visibility and that their values are distinctive amongst the crowd. Interior fit-outs play a significant role by providing a physical space which reflects a brand’s identity. Through the use of lighting, colour, texture and other design elements, fashion houses can create a distinctive atmosphere that can help their target customer to connect with their brand. A well-planned and executed retail space can increase customer satisfaction and generate sales, the shop layout and display of merchandise are key components in the design process. At Time-Lapse Systems we work with an array of the world’s most recognisable fashion brands documenting the construction of warehouse facilities, super-sheds, distribution and fulfilment centres as-well as the fit-outs of their stores. With this in mind, we reflect on some of the projects that we have documented showing the transformation of these incredible spaces.

Time-Lapse for Fashion Brand Burberry: Shop Fit-Out

We captured the interior-fit out of one of Burberry‘s UK stores. This luxury fashion house was established in 1856 by Thomas Burberry and remains a unique British brand known for its practical yet modern fashion forward pieces. We were on-hand to document every stage of the construction of the brand’s new store showing the full transformation of this retail space. This shop fit-out used luxurious finishes and clean lines to reinforce that this fashion house is a premium brand.

We also time-lapsed the construction of a new store for Ralph Lauren at the Freeport Designer Outlet in Braintree, in Essex. The site has benefited from a huge revamp with newly created retail spaces, 400 new car parking spaces, a contemporary barn-style facade at the North entrance, as-well as a new footpath leading to the nearby train station. We time-lapsed the construction of the ‘anchor’ building which stands proud at 1290 sq m and where Ralph Lauren will be selling their highly popular Polo range to customers.

We have also captured the fit-out of a high street branch for Canadian winter and ski wear brand Canada Goose. This luxury manufacturer of performance apparel is a firm favourite of mountain climbers and its lightweight range is perfect for everyday wear for the whole family. We documented the interior styling of this shop which creatively immerses customers in the brand’s values. The store features matt black metal and a neutral colour palette to create a sophisticated minimalistic aesthetic.

Sketchers Distribution Centre Time-Lapse.

Not only have we time-lapsed some extraordinary interior shop fit-outs for clients in the fashion retail sector, but we have also captured the construction of some of their warehouses and distribution centres, such as this project in Suffolk Park for the popular shoe brand, Sketchers. This warehouse in Bury St Edmonds, is 322,917 sq ft and plans are already underway to expand the centre another 100,000 sq ft. Close to the port of Felixstowe, this building is strategically placed allowing the brand to ship all of their shoes and sports apparel internationally, as-well as within England. This is one of the largest warehouses ever built in East Anglia and its construction has created 100 new jobs. Our time-lapse video is expertly edited in time to the musical score, which gives impact as the story of this project unfolds on screen. We are well-known for our work in the super-sheds and warehouse sector, working for a range of high-profile developers as they build some of the UK’s largest distribution and fulfilment centres.

This carefully curated clothing collection offers fashionable and affordable attire for the whole family. It has won many high-street clothing awards, making it a credible fashion brand in its own right.
