News Time-lapse catch-up – Monday 3 November 2014

3 November 2014 Daniel Curtis

As you return to work today from a weekend of (probably) Halloween ‘festivities’ and firework displays, you would be forgiven for feeling a little down.

Halloween has been and gone, so what now?

You would also be forgiven for missing some of the great time-lapse videos that have emerged over the past few days.

So we have collected up some of our favourites from the past 72 hours and put them together in this bite-sized blog, taking the hard work out of Monday for you.

A while ago we covered how cleverly produced sequences can highlight the intricacies of creating a work of art and this 13-second clip is one of the latest do to just that.

The more ‘traditional’ use of time-lapse photography is, of course, for recording nature. And this Madagascar video, shot and uploaded by Oliver Sommer, is another excellent example of such work.

From traditional to funky, this post-produced edit for Caulfield Grammar School in Victoria, Australia, is certainly eye-catching!

Short and snappy time-lapses are becoming more and more common, thanks to more readily available and easier to use technology. But do not be fooled into thinking such lengths are only for amateurs – as Hafidz Abdul Kadir proves in his recent Kuala Lumpur sequence.

And even with Halloween having been and gone, there are still pumpkin carving videos emerging!
