Portsmouth City Council – Northern Road bridge replacement

This week’s Friday Feature takes us to Cosham, Portsmouth, in the South East of England.

One of two projects we completed with Portsmouth City Council back in 2013 and 2014, Time-Lapse Systems were commissioned to document major replacement works of the Northern Road bridge.

The rail services at Cosham continued to function throughout the works on the bridge, which carries the A397 between the M27 and the A3 over the line.

Taking 12 months to complete our camera system captured continuously 24/7.

With most of the possession works taking place at night to minimalise risk and disruption to the public, we utilised remotely managed time-lapse capture so as to produce the best possible images regardless of the changing lighting conditions.

If you look closely at the video, you can see the grass growing on the surrounding banks of the bridge!
