GL events – Sir Elton John Stand development at Vicarage Road

Returning to our work with events and stadia development experts GL events, this week’s feature takes us to Vicarage Road, home of Watford Football Club.

In late 2014, the then brand-new Sir Elton John Stand was opened to the public following a 36-week period of redevelopment.

Capturing both the demolition and construction phases of the project, we used a single time-lapse camera system to document every detail of this £3.5 million development.

The East stand replaced the old Main Stand, which had been out of action due to health and safety concerns since 2008.

Such a key rejuvenation for the football club and fans alike, our secure online viewer enabled contractors, supporters and the wider public to track the progress of the build as it happened.

This finished edit incorporates thousands of high quality images from our uninterrupted capture of this key project.
