News Time-lapsing the Northern Powerhouse: spotlight on Manchester
A BRIDGE replacement, sewage improvement works and a Lego Miniland installation.
These are just some of the 50+ varied projects we have provided time-lapse on in the Greater Manchester area, with many still ongoing, and more in the pipeline.
Part of the ‘Northern Powerhouse’, Manchester is one of the core cities in this regional economic area, and one of the fastest growing cities in the UK.
Salford Quays, Deansgate, Spinningfields, and Trafford Park are just some of the many locations we have worked in.
Northern Powerhouse
As part of a push to further growth in this North West of England hub, we are helping to document some of these important ongoing developments.
One of these key areas which is seeing major changes to the urban landscape is Deansgate.
An example of our Manchester time-lapse work, we are currently capturing the demolition of the historic Lincoln House, to make way for the construction of 125 Deansgate.

This £45m Grade A office space is set to become one of the most recognisable buildings in one of Manchester’s most prominent locations, situated near the Central Business District and Civic Quarter.
Another of these high-profile office developments is located riverside, near Spinningfields. Having documented the demolition of what was City Wharf (Washington House), we are now time-lapsing the construction of its grand replacement, One New Bailey.
Elsewhere along the rivers and canals of Greater Manchester, we had a camera system installed to capture a new venue for popular bar and restaurant chain, The Alchemist.
Situated in the heart of Salford Quays, this waterfront destination stands as part of MediaCity UK, another landmark area in Manchester.
Providing a range of time-lapse and video services for projects like these, we are well equipped to document any future developments in this vibrant and rapidly expanding region.
Varied application
In addition to ongoing construction projects, our work spans other diverse sectors, including but not limited to retail fit-outs, housing developments, major infrastructural works, and leisure developments.
Our ability to apply ourselves to the individual specifications inherent in each job is echoed in our list of established clients, which includes:
- United Utilities
- Legoland
- Capital Properties
- Highways England.
Of course, our work for several of these clients is not only limited to projects in the Greater Manchester area.
International brands such as Legoland, for example, have commissioned our multimedia services to capture various Lego-build displays before being delivered to their many attractions across the globe.
For other companies, like Network Rail, we have applied our expertise to capture complex infrastructural developments all over the UK.
But we are particularly thrilled to be involved in telling the story of Manchester’s continued growth and helping to document the North’s ever-expanding landscape through time-lapse.
