News Time-lapse of Rayner’s new HQ now complete

One year’s uninterrupted site monitoring produces over 15,000 Ultra HD images.
CONSTRUCTION of a purpose-built headquarters for a high-tech lens manufacturer is one of many office builds we have recently captured for our clients.
Time-Lapse Systems captured Rayner’s new facility being built in East Worthing – delivered by Morgan Sindall, TSL Projects and Ardmac – for a full year, making a new image available to view online every 15 minutes through a secure viewer.
Having identified the site as being perfect for their new global headquarters, Britain’s only manufacturer of intraocular lenses chose us above any other media company to document this historic moment for the company.
From initial ground-works, to the steelwork being erected and even the finishing touches of paint in the foyer were all captured in stunning Ultra HD.
We have now delivered a two-minute edit – created by meticulously sorting through each of the 15,000 individual still images and applying our bespoke post-production techniques to the video – and have received great feedback from our client.

The Ridley Innovation Centre will become the new global headquarters for Rayner, who manufactured the world’s first intraocular lenses in 1949, and includes 600m2 of cleanrooms. The company will transfer its 170-strong workforce from their current base in Hove by May 2016 and also see it expand to around 200 staff.
When it comes to capturing office builds, we believe no other company can deliver the same quality result that we can. From Reading to Stoke-on-Trent and Oxford to Glasgow, our camera systems are capturing works for expanding businesses and national companies alike.
One such example is 10 Wellington Place in Leeds. Commercial property developer MEPC used the interactive remote imaging system (iRis) service we provided to keep website visitors up-to-date with on-site building works. The finished time-lapse video is available to watch at the bottom of this article.
Other office builds we have been involved with include:
- Three separate premises in Reading, including Forbury Place for Galliford Try.
- Various developments in some of the UK’s biggest cities, including multiple sites in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
- Additional projects for MEPC, involving multiple cameras at Milton Park in Oxfordshire.
- The new Smithfield development for Genr8, Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Laing O’Rourke.
- Another Laing O’Rourke project, capturing the construction of the new Scottish Power HQ in Glasgow.
