News Time-lapse across the East Midlands
The East Midlands encompasses the counties of Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Rutland. Derby, Leicester, Lincoln, Mansfield, Northampton, and Nottingham are key cities, and we’ve had the privilege of time-lapsing across the region on a wide variety of projects.
Nottinghamshire
The city of Nottingham is undergoing a transformation including the redevelopment of the vast Broadmarsh shopping centre site. We’ve been reporting from the Broadmarsh area, with our camera system documenting demolition works, including that of a multi-storey car park.
Through time-lapse we capture the demolition and construction of buildings, offices, and factories, but we also report on the work that takes place within them. For one of our longstanding clients, Maritime Transport Ltd, our camera systems have documented work at their railway facilities, including Toton Sidings in Nottinghamshire. We have provided short-term capture to record DB Cargo’s Paint Shop Team at Toton TMD transforming Class 66 locomotives into the Maritime livery to mark a collaboration between Maritime and DB Cargo.
We’ve reported inside the Caledonian Modular factory in Newark, Nottinghamshire to document the intricate manufacture of modules. This capture was to showcase how modular construction was used in the Hercules joint venture between Kier and Balfour Beatty to create accommodation at MoD Lyneham. The footage was used within a promotional video that our skilled in-house editors created for the project.
Leicester
Leicester is a city undergoing development. We are documenting regeneration schemes, such as the Leicester Tigers rugby club transformation of the 1.7 acres former Granby Hall site into a large £22m hotel complex and multi-storey car park stadium side.
Derby
Further redevelopment and demolition work has taken us to Derby. We have captured the Celanese Acetate demolition by Squibb Group in Spondon, Derby. We are currently back on the same 140-acre site, documenting the creation of the SMART PARC development build – a new 1.8 million sq ft collaborative food manufacturing hub.
In the city, our camera system was installed to record the ‘live’ demolition project of the clearance of the Derby Royal Infirmary Nurses Home. As our time-lapse capture has the enhanced benefit of site monitoring, demolition could also be remotely managed and monitored by contractors and project managers through a secure viewing portal. Using this function on a sensitive ‘live’ site with staff and patients can be remotely micromanaged, ensuring that a healthcare project can run efficiently and safely.
Across the UK we have recently been capturing extensively for Amazon as it retrofits existing fulfillment centres and constructs new ‘sheds’. As part of this project, we have been delighted to document progress in the East Midlands, at their site in Derby as well as at Peterborough, Northants.
Northamptonshire
Due to its central location, Northamptonshire is seeing a rise in the construction of large facilities, sheds, factories, and high-tech business parks and we are privileged to be capturing a variety of projects in the county.
We’ve been providing ongoing long-term capture for various developments at Silverstone Park, an MEPC innovative technology and research business park.
We are also currently reporting on the construction of a deep freeze facility and a large factory fit-out in Northamptonshire.
