South Essex College – Thurrock campus
Time-lapse videos can be a valuable visual record of construction progress across all industries.
Between October 2012 and summer 2014, we captured the construction of South Essex College’s Thurrock Campus in Grays.
Projects in the Higher Education sector often have more stakeholders than other projects, with everyone from the public to investors, and students to staff alike invested in the important developments to their facilities.
With approximately £45 million invested in the campus, this short, one-minute time-lapse edit was ideal for the college to share across their various websites and media platforms, to keep everyone in the loop.
The project required two of our HD camera systems to capture the construction works by contractor, Skanska, resulting in over 60,000 images taken over the course of the two-year development.
In our varied application of time-lapse and site monitoring techniques, we have been involved with many other developments in the education sector, including:
- Redevelopment works by Kier at Whitefriars School in Harrow
- A new school build at Thorndown Primary School in St. Ives
- The Cambourne Primary School campus construction in Cambridgeshire
