News Time-lapse video reveals the transformation of a Maritime locomotive
The 18-day restoration process of a locomotive has now been revealed in just 60 seconds, following completion of our latest time-lapse project for Maritime.
The work, including a full re-brand, was part of a new 10-year partnership between Maritime Transport and DB Cargo UK, to collaborate and deliver complete supply chain coverage, in a greener and more efficient way.
For 18 consecutive days, we captured the project in Nottingham from start to finish. We provided the full documentation of the stripping back, re-coating and finishing of the locomotive in the very highest quality, from our four strategically positioned camera systems.
Capture of the whole project was thought out carefully prior to the restoration starting.
Our experienced engineers identified the most effective use of the four-camera system set-up across the two working sheds, with two stationed in each. Optimum positions were identified and utilised, to capture the transformation from multiple angles and with best possible results.
Having captured over 13,000 above Ultra HD quality images during the work, our dedicated editing team produced a one-minute visual account of the transformation.
The one-minute time-lapse video produced for Maritime has since been shared widely across social media.
This week we launched our 7th route for @Maritime_UK into East Midlands Gateway. Our Paint Shop Team at Toton TMD have worked hard transforming Class 66 locomotives into the glossy Maritime livery. Check out the video showing the process of a locomotive being transformed! pic.twitter.com/RcRZG3aJab

This was just one of our Maritime commissions, following on from a previous project capturing a 24-hour ‘day in the life’ time-lapse of their facility in Tamworth.
The consistent, high-quality capture that we have produced for Maritime is what we are known for, reaffirming our status as the leading provider of time-lapse solutions for the UK’s biggest rail & road infrastructure specialists.
